Shoe Attacker and President Bush

Published by aebersole at 1:56 pm under Current News Edit This

A shoe attack is the headline; big day for the political news. As the world sits and waits for Barack Obama to take office, we are left with a shoe attacker and President Bush. Really, it is very funny, come on, a shoe? Oh well, guess some people have different ways of expressing themselves.

Talking about expressing, the Blaco skit on SNL was classic. Fortunately I was able to see it live and found it very funny. The entire situation is a SNL skit come to life, really a governor selling the Senate seat vacated by the president-elect…A script writer could only dream of drawing this one up.

Other than that, not much going on folks, just a lot sitting and waiting.

In case you weren’t aware, throwing a shoe at someone is an enormous insult in the Arab world. It essentially means, “you are as worthless as the dirt on my feet”.

He also said, “This is a gift from the Iraqis. This is a farewell kiss, you dog!”, and “This is for the widows, the orphans, and those who were killed in Iraq”.

Yes, people often have different ways of expressing themselves. To trivialize that is to further the hatred of this country in the eyes of other nations.

The hatred that has been bestowed on us is exactly what we deserve. We need to stay at home, bring the troops home, and mind our own business sometimes and stop playing Save the World. If America is really for Americans, stop spending money on foreign wars, build some new factories, cut down urban blight, and for Gods sake, fix the trade imbalance and the national debt.
