Count Me in as Undecided

Published by aebersole at 7:00 am under Current News Edit This

Well, one week away from the election and count me as an undecided voter. The problem I have is this: Barack Obama is apart of a movement that insists on dictating who, how and where I apply acts if kindness. They do this by taking my money and giving it to others with few if any conditions. That is something I simply cannot tolerate and is the reason why I have also have been turned off by the Dems, even though on many social issues (civil liberties) I agree with them.

There is something that is eating at me and it is the character flaw of both Obama and John McCain. In Barack Obama it is clear he holds a savior complex. I have seen where this belief of being destined has gotten us; George W. Bush and others far worse.

John McCain’s flaw is this ever growing need to have others justify his actions. It seems as if every decision McCain makes is based on one thing; avoid insulting those that disagree with you. I know people like this and they base their entire self-worth on the perception others hold of them. This leads to a miserable life as it is impossible to reach a level where everyone sees you as likable.

So with that said, I am still learning to either sitting out the election or voting for Bob Barr…I suppose many will say not voting is being void of my citizen duty, but I say selling out my values for the sake of voting against someone, is selling out my individualism. Because as they say, voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil.

You could look at as being the one who offers the most hope for a better America, rather than the lesser of two evils. :)

I can see your point in a way- however while you may feel the Dems are deciding to who and where you apply acts of kindness- the government always decides where you will spend your money- it is just normally kept more quiet spent on those who already have it:)
Not sure if sitting out will help because it will no doubt be one of them who takes office- maybe just vote for the one who you agree with more

When I am looking for hope I look in the mirror or the lovely lady that I call my wife! I honestly never look at a politician.
