History is not on Obama’s Side

Published by aebersole under Current News Edit This

Forget the Bradley effect and toss out the electoral maps on MSNBC and Chuck Todd. The fact is history is not on Barack Obama’s side. Since the end of LBJ, lets look at the presidential history of this nation.

Richard Nixon (R), Gerald Ford (R), Jimmy Carter (D), Ronald Reagan (R), George Bush (R), Bill Clinton (D) and George W. Bush (R). That is exactly two Democratic Presidents since 1968, not a good equation for Barack Obama. Making things even more difficult on Obama is the fact that A. Jimmy Carter was elected after Watergate and B. Bill Clinton, his first term, was the result of a split Republican party. Now, it can be said that the Republicans are battered and bruised, down and out, but something seems to have motivated them in the last few weeks and that something is Obama’s own words.

The recent radio interview tapes released, showing Obama questioning the Constitution and his spread the wealth comments have not only scared the conservatives, but motivated them. We see this in the polls and if we can believe it, the early voting turnout as the difference in Florida is almost zero.

So, what does this all mean? If the conservatives are motivated and with a country that outside of the urban areas, leans center to right are motivated, John McCain will pull this off. If they remain lukewarm  about John McCain, than Barack Obama is the next President of the United States.

Fossil Fuels or Renewable Energy?

Published by aebersole under Current News Edit This

People seem to be asking, what is wrong with redistributing wealth, well everything.

Rich people become so, because their money is working for them. This means investments, business and that means jobs, which creates wealth for those that benefit from the employment. This creates a continued stream of wealth creation as the money is being recycled and benefiting people over and over. Even if the rich hoard this money it is still creating more wealth that is being spread out.

If money is taken out of the private sector and put into the government it is a one time hit. As a governing entity, not a business, the government cannot create a stream of cash, so it must leach onto another source. That source is the private sector, which currently creates wealth by building it. As the government takes, it leaves less and less for the private sector to create, meaning that when the host dries up the parasite will either move to another host or terminate.

The only true way to create wealth is to do it via the private sector.  It is not redistribution, but creation that is the key.

Look at from a liberal viewpoint. Wealth redistribution is like fossil fuels. When fossil fuels are burnt they are gone. When wealth is taken by the government it ends up being consumed. Keeping it in the private sector would be similar to an engine that runs on the static energy it creates as it moves along.

Although the gap may seem large, the fact is our poor are not poor relative to the world and our classes are fluid allowing for people to move in and out of wealth.

Count Me in as Undecided

Published by aebersole under Current News Edit This

Well, one week away from the election and count me as an undecided voter. The problem I have is this: Barack Obama is apart of a movement that insists on dictating who, how and where I apply acts if kindness. They do this by taking my money and giving it to others with few if any conditions. That is something I simply cannot tolerate and is the reason why I have also have been turned off by the Dems, even though on many social issues (civil liberties) I agree with them.

There is something that is eating at me and it is the character flaw of both Obama and John McCain. In Barack Obama it is clear he holds a savior complex. I have seen where this belief of being destined has gotten us; George W. Bush and others far worse.

John McCain’s flaw is this ever growing need to have others justify his actions. It seems as if every decision McCain makes is based on one thing; avoid insulting those that disagree with you. I know people like this and they base their entire self-worth on the perception others hold of them. This leads to a miserable life as it is impossible to reach a level where everyone sees you as likable.

So with that said, I am still learning to either sitting out the election or voting for Bob Barr…I suppose many will say not voting is being void of my citizen duty, but I say selling out my values for the sake of voting against someone, is selling out my individualism. Because as they say, voting for the lesser of two evils is still voting for evil.

More Ramblings of Collectivism by Obama

Published by aebersole under Current News Edit This

 Please watch the video below:

Obama is clearly a follower of what is the most dangerous concept to individual freedom, collectivism. Obama notes that his individual salvation is directly tied to the collective salvation.  So why is this so dangerous? The answer is as follows:

First, he is seeking a purely abstract concept, collectivism. Because of this his goals are doomed before they can begin and he’s being regulated to failure.

Second, he is speaking of salvation for aiding others. It seems as if he sees himself as their savior, the person that can rescue them from the hardships of life. This is a dangerous concept for any one human to behold. It takes away the rational and often forces them into the irrational, based on the abstract concept that they are the only way, the only answer. It is becoming clear that Barack Obama is holding himself to a level of being something more than a leader, he sees himself as being a savior.

Combined with his predetermined failure and the sense that he is destined to succeed, creates an explosive combination. It is the recipe for repression and personal destruction. I hope for Barack’s own personal health that he sees his weakness and corrects this flaw.

As the statement goes…The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Obama Wants the Constitution Changed

Published by aebersole under 1 Edit This

This morning I came across this interview on you tube. Honestly, I am stunned by what I heard. Watch this video and pay close attention to what Obama says about the Constitution. I have never heard a public official be so wrong about its intent or purpose. Listen to his words as Obama says it clearly, leaving very little doubt as to where he stands.

Finally, many of the Obama attacks focused on his younger days from college. I found most of them to be a bit pointless as honestly who isn’t a radical of some sort in college? But, please note the date of  this video, it is 2001. Far removed from his college days.

There can be little doubt this race is going to be close…Get ready for a long night.

Two Men Making Big Impacts

Published by aebersole under Current News Edit This

Recently I visited two small towns located in West Central Ohio;
Versailles and New Bremen.

Both are under 2000 residents, surrounded by corn fields and soy beans, instead of interstates and skyscrapers. There are no professional sports teams are major colleges. Each has a handful of two-lane highways running in and out. They are quite, slow moving and tucked far away from the spotlight of
America.

Yet, both towns offer something much more than an old fashion breakfast and the distinctive smell of livestock.

Versailles known around Ohio for its high school football team (which I will be publishing a book about very soon) is also the home of the Versailles Inn. The
Inn offers fine French dining and draws people from around the area. There is an 18-hole golf course, considered a top level public course. The town will soon feature a new high school, with a 21st century theater. There are statues placed in the town square, representing the town’s heritage, where artist are often found performing. The streets and sidewalks are newly refurbished with lamp posts resembling the 1800’s. This tiny little town, concealed by corn fields is thriving with a rich taste of culture and a vivant residency.

Just about 20 miles north of Versailles, is New Bremen. Similar in so many ways, New Bremen is the home of a movie theater, a first class school, which also contains a state of the art theater, a sprawling public library and a bicycle museum. The downtown also features newly refurbished sidewalks and roads.

But there is something else these two towns have in common; gracious, community minded businessmen.

Versailles is the headquarters of Midmark, a maker of medical supplies. New
Bremen is the home Crown Equipment, a forklift producer. The two gentlemen that have built these multi-million dollar companies have embraced their communities, reaching out to the leaders and the residents, making this communities unique is so many ways.

Versailles and New Bremen residents have something so many desire; the benefits of living in small town USA, with the luxuries of the big city. All this has been done minus the creation of a large government and taxpayer money. I believe, if a pollster asked the residents of Versailles who most effects their lives, Barack Obama or John McCain, they simply look at the pollster and offer a polite; neither.

Polls, Polls, Polls…They are Driving Me Crazy

Published by aebersole under Current News Edit This

I give up trying to figure out where this presidential race is going. The polls are all over the place with some showing Obama surging and others showing the race tight.

My gut feeling still says Obama, because of the grumpy voter that I noted in a post last week and Bush’s sad performance. But, the fear of the unknown and the foot-in-the-mouth syndrome of Obama and Biden could be playing a big role. Speaking of Biden, it would be too bad if his comments hurt Obama, because they were true and honest; unfortunate for that to hurt a campaign.

Overall, I suppose the best course is to sit back and watch. What is there really left to debate? Not much, it has been gone over and over again. Boy, I do hope for a wild night on November 4, simply because if it is tight and regardless of the winner one thing is sure; either Keith Olbermann or Sean Hannity will have a nervous breakdown on national television, I just hope I don’t miss it.

Over the next few days, I will be looking away from presidential politics and focusing on some personal, positive stories.

Barney Frank: Ignore Deficit Spending…

Published by aebersole under Current News Edit This

Barney Frank is at it again. In a recent interview he proclaimed on CNBC that; “We should increase spending and deficit fear should take a second seat at this time.” Oh he went on…

“We can recoup the money spent by taxing the very rich,” Frank was on a roll. Although Frank did say any tax increase should wait.

This is an age old argument, but facts or facts; taking money out of the private sector to fund government only worsens the economic standing of that nation. Around the world such places as
Ireland have learned this and investment money is flooding in. Yet, here in the homeland of capitalism we continue to push away from the one proven system towards one that has done nothing but stymie a nation’s growth.

One more quote from Frank; he proclaimed the fundamentals of the economics are better than the psychology of the nation. Hum, I wonder if Frank has been designated to undo the fear mongering just in case Obama wins this election.

Race is an Issue: Face it!

Published by aebersole under Current News Edit This

The news cycle is in one of those modes that makes it almost unwatchable. Sunday morning Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama for president. A few hours later Rush Limbaugh told the Politico that he is still looking for any white, inexperience liberals Powell endorsed.

Since those events took place the media is in a frenzy running wild about the wonders of Powell’s endorsement and Limbaugh’s statement. I say big deal to both.

First, personal political endorsements over the years have proven of little importance. Sure getting the stamp of approval from the typical liberal or conservative groups is necessary in securing the base, but as for personal endorsements, nope. Colin Powell came out for Obama, great, but there will be few very people now rushing to Obama.

Secondly, Limbaugh only said what has been true in this election and is a part of everyday life. Of course race played a role in Powell’s decision, but again big deal. In fact, one can make an argument that race should play a role for Powell as Obama is running for history and the African-Amercian male. Race is a part of the equation both positive and negative; stop ignoring it.
