Russia There for Good?
Russia continues to insist they are pulling troops out of Georgia and will be out by Friday; their words and actions are not mixing.
Despite agreeing to the cease fire and to pulling troops out of the tiny pro-western nation, Russian troops have been digging in at key points around Georgia and appear in no hurry to leave. This is a disturbing trend and could be the west worse fears coming true.
When the invasion commenced and the Russian bear growled, the world instantly flung back in time to the Cold War. Having spent the last 15 plus years recovering from communism, Russia is now ready to flex their muscles and it is likely Georgia is the first step. So, a world just a few short years ago relishing in peace now faces the reality of not one superpower, but three, Russian, United States and China.
Over the last few years we have learned that China is more concerned with economic power than military, the question is what are the goals of Russia? A pressing issue that next President of the United States will have to answer. The world is heading back into troubling times.
