Why Isn’t Obama Rolling?

Published by aebersole at 11:00 am under Current News Edit This

Why isn’t Barack Obama up 10, 12 even 15 points over John McCain in the race for the White House? That is an interesting question considering gas prices are at $4.00 a gallon, the housing market is in shambles, the DOW just went under 11,000 briefly and the earth is heating up, threatening mankind (had to toss that one in).

All of these would point to an easy Obama win in November and perhaps it will happen, but as of now, neither candidate has been able to get it going. For Obama there could be a number of reasons. He is still a very unknown commodity (something that isn’t going to change), Rev. Wright makes many voters very uncomfortable, American’s are turned off by straight up liberalism and finally the only people with a lower approval rating than Bush, is the Democratic controlled Congress. John McCain has a plethora of problems, starting with the fact his base hates him.

Perhaps this is a signal that the American voters are finally getting it; government doesn’t solve problems, it creates them. Many have simply turned off the politicians and are moving forward, making the best of a bad situation.

Add in voter apathy with a viable third party candidate in Bob Barr and the winner in November will probably fall short of reaching 50% of the vote.

A Bob Barr mention and in the same sentence as viable third party candidate. Wouldn’t it be awesome if the purples took over the country?

I sure hope that more Americans are getting the fact that government creates problems and is not the answer. Great Post! Obama will just create more government problems making the economy worst.

Great post today. I would have to agree that the American public are finally getting it. i just hope we can do something about it. To much is left in the hands of our government. It is time for the people to take it back.
