Below is a test, the goal; decide which list is describing a conservative and which is describing a liberal. Okay, read and take a guess. The answer can be found on the bottom of the page.
President Number 1:
Welfare reform
International free trade agreement
Promoted the free market in technology
Created a balance budget
President Number 2:
Created an education bill, giving the federal government more control, by increasing mandates
A prescription medicine plan that will cost billions
Amnesty for illegal immigrates
Large deficit spending
Nation building
President number 1 is Bill Clinton, the liberal Democratic. President number 2 is of course George W. Bush, the supposed Republican conservative from Texas. My point of this blog is the warn liberals about Barack Obama. Many see him as this great savior with his liberal ideals and programs. The fact is, unless given complete control, which he might have for a few years, the odds are Barack Obama will be as conservative as George Bush.

I first heard this on the Rush Limbaugh Show. I checked out the Newsweek web site and found Lishwick’s column. Read it with caution…

This case made my heart skip and the fact four justices ruled in favor makes it skip again, again, again and again. The following is John McCain’s official statement on the ruling. In it he calls out Barack Obama to stand with him…Yeah, likes that going to happen.
McCain:
Today’s decision is a landmark victory for Second Amendment freedom in the United States. For this first time in the history of our Republic, the U.S. Supreme Court affirmed that the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms was and is an individual right as intended by our Founding Fathers. I applaud this decision as well as the overturning of the District of Columbia’s ban on handguns and limitations on the ability to use firearms for self-defense.
Unlike Senator Obama, who refused to join me in signing a bipartisan amicus brief, I was pleased to express my support and call for the ruling issued today. Today’s ruling in District of Columbia v. Heller makes clear that other municipalities like Chicago that have banned handguns have infringed on the constitutional rights of Americans. Unlike the elitist view that believes Americans cling to guns out of bitterness, today’s ruling recognizes that gun ownership is a fundamental right – sacred, just as the right to free speech and assembly.
This ruling does not mark the end of our struggle against those who seek to limit the rights of law-abiding citizens. We must always remain vigilant in defense of our freedoms. But today, the Supreme Court ended forever the specious argument that the Second Amendment did not confer an individual right to keep and bear arms.

Bottled water is destroying the environment? Okay, I am getting really confused because wasn’t it just a few years ago that bottled water was critical. After all public water facilities were ill equipped to provide safe drinking water. Now, this appears to be switching, so now we must toss out the ancient, pure water that can only found in France and bought at the grocery store. They say replace it with? While tap water of course. The fact is this is just another in a long list of ridiculous flip flops by those who desire to protect the environment. Not so long ago, it was plastic bags at the grocery stores instead of paper. Then that was not acceptable, now we must purchase the reusable fabric bags. As a child, global warming wasn’t even a concern, nope, it was of all things; an ice age.
Flip and flop.
Let us not forget the endangered species list. Yes, we must protect the animals, but then turn on Discovery Channel and witness a young lion cub starving as scavengers anxiously await its death, while the camera rolls. Because as the deep, somber voice proclaims, we must not interfere with the process of nature.
Flip and flop.
The list is endless and in fact I am confident that readers of this column are remembering some other flip flop. This entire situation would be comic gold if not for the fact that individual liberties are being stripped daily by the self righteous environmentalist. Even more alarming they continue to make the life of the average person more difficult and more expensive.
Being responsible for our surroundings is a logical act, tearing down the human race for in an attempt to save their home is not. Let’s hope that the flip is coming soon, before we flop back to the dark days.

Senator John McCain’s campaign held a conference call this morning. During this call they focused on the energy policies of both McCain and Barack Obama. As the prices of gas continue upward, energy will be a big issue during the campaign.McCain recently switched his position on offshore drilling and is being joined in that switch by thousands of voters. A wave is sweeping through voters as the high price of gas is trumping environment issues. Not surprisingly the McCain camp jumped on this issue with Senator Jon Kyl (AZ) leading the charge.
“And contrasted with Senator McCain’s balanced approach to more production and less use, you have ‘Dr. No,’ or as we in the Senate here are referring to it as the mantra of “No We Can’t’ as a play on Senator Obama’s phrase ‘Yes, We Can.’ No we can’t drill offshore. No we can’t go to the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Of course he said he’s not a proponent of nuclear so no we can’t do that. And he’s even said, no we shouldn’t do the reward for the technology improvement for a battery that would allow people to use those kinds of vehicles. So, it’s a very negative approach which basically says there are no answers to the hurt that Americans are suffering right now and it’s up to leaders to come up with answers and that’s what John McCain has done,” said Kyl.
Look for this type of message to pounded into the minds of voters from now until November.

Former United Nations General Secretary Kofi Annan said recently that the wealthier nations around the world (umm,United States) should take the burden of global warming off the poor nations.
This is exactly the problem with global warming. A problem offered up by scientist has now become a club to shake down the rich in the name of “protecting the environment.”
Back in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s when communism fell the green party in
Europe enjoyed a popularity boom, as communist found a new home. It was a logical transition as those seeking the elimination of private property now had the perfect cover. Instead of economic fairness for the working class it is now to save the planet.
Global warming has become a farce. Without anymore evidence than Bush had of wmd’s in Iraq, the greenies have gone to war. The environmental movement is no more about the environment than Stalin was about freeing Eastern Europe. There is virtually zero evidence that man has caused global warming, in fact the case can be made that more evidence exists that it is not man made, but rather a natural cycle. Stegosaurs fossils have been found in Colorado, meaning the climate has been altered inColorado and minus the presences of man.
Is the earth warming? Of course it has, but there are signs it is now cooling and clearly it has gone through dramatic change in the past. Global warming has become like so many causes, driven by fear and void of logic. It is time to stop the foolishness and if there truly is a problem lets address it and leave the shake downs to the mafia. Of course both McCain and Obama have made it very clear that is not going to happen.

One of the greats George Carlin passed away today at 71. Carlin was a great comedian and perhaps and even greater mind. He never bowed to the suits or powers-to-be, instead doing it his way. There is little doubt it cost him a shot at true stardom and a television contract, but for Carlin that was no big deal. Off the stage he tackled the government sponsored big brother, challenging the insanity of regulation via the Supreme Court.
Thanks George for never giving in and showing that people can make it, without selling out.

John McCain is slipping in some polls; creating a sense once again that he is the clear underdog. So what can McCain do to stop this slide? Well, let’s hope he doesn’t strike up the fear parade.
Fear has so often been used in this nation as a tool to get the people to trade off liberties; it is a time aged practiced with a history of success. One of those fear issues has been same sex marriage. The mantra of the conservatives has been to protect the sanctuary of marriage.
Well, I have to admit I am a thirty something, white, heterosexual male and live in the center of the family value movement. I find the objections to same sex marriage baffling. The sounding board for opposing same sex marriage has been it will destroy the value of marriage, interesting because I have been happily married for 13 years. In that time countless same sex couples have lived together, simulating the act of marriage. It seems their decision has had little effect on my happiness.
What has driven this anti-same sex movement is a group of individuals determined to oppose their beliefs on others. Often these are the same individuals who proclaim themselves conservative, less government minded people. However, I am afraid their actions speak an entirely different message.
So, my appeal to John McCain, please do not fear the voters into another movement that will ultimately mean more government intrusion into the lives of the people. My appeal to those that oppose same sex marriage: Stop and think real hard if increasing the police power of the state for self-defined morality is worth it?

People are wondering what does Barack Obama stand for; well wonder no more. Senator Barack Obama has made it clear, he is a social liberal, who stands for as he stated “a fair economy.”This statement alone should tell the observant voter exactly who this man is; he is a society first politician, who believes that the foundation is the group rather than the individual. His policies reflect this with a focus on government base medical care and a bottom up economic policy. He seeks to take from the rich to aid the poor under the name of doing it for the greater good.
The fallacy in Obama’s stance is the fact his foundation is nothing more than an abstract concept. How does one achieve fairness in his eyes? By removing something from those deemed “more fortunate.” In theory this is fair, yet in practicality it is decisively unfair, unless one considers using the police force of the state to take away from an individual fair. Also, this sense of fairness requires the government to define one’s success and failure.
Let’s move onto the bottom up economy. An economy is based on production and investment, those at the bottom may be doing both, but it is a level which is nearly insignificant. These people are not capable of driving or growing an economy. Following this theory normally leads again to the forced taking and giving dictated by the government.
Lastly, there is no greater good. The explanation for this stance requires much more than a few hundred words on a blog, so I will leave it with this. The town exists because of the individuals who live in it. Take away the people and there is no town, however, John and Mary are still John and Mary. In this world there are only individuals, everything is built around the individual, therefore the only good must focus on the individual good. Striving for anything else will lead one down an unachievable road and consequently frustration.
Barack Obama is clear as to his ideals, it just so happens they could not be more wrong.

John McCain is down five points, 47 percent to 42 percent in a poll released by Zogby, hardly earth shattering news. Virtually every Republican in recent memory was trailing in the early polling, this seems to be fulfilling status quo.Pollster John Zogby noted that McCain was down 52 to 33 percent among “independent voters” saying this was a big problem for McCain. For past Republican nominees this was no big deal, but in McCain’s case, Zogby is correct. Continue Reading »
