McCain Not Attracting Business $
Word is spreading that John McCain is having problems drawing cash from the same donors that financed George W. Bush in 2004. This would certainly be a big blow for McCain, especially since many of these donors; energy, construction, pharmaceutical and securities are giving money to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
The political action committees (PAC’s) from these sectors note the closed wallets are a result of McCain’s past voting record. However, they poured nearly 11 million dollars into both the Clinton and Obama campaigns, both are no friends of drug producers or energy companies. There must be another reason, beyond past voting record.
The real reason is simple, winnability. McCain was not seen as a viable candidate until recently. PAC’s are looking for a return on their investment and they will flood to the precieved front runner, who until recently was not John McCain.
With the shine coming off Barack Obama and the continued high unfavorable rating of Hillary Clinton, it is not hard to imagine that the PAC’s will soon greet John McCain with open arms and wallets.
