NC GOP Ad too Hot for McCain.

Published by aebersole at 1:36 pm under Current News Edit This

Republican Presidential candidate John McCain is calling on North Carolina GOP to halt a controversial ad. The ad seen above, addresses the connection between Rev. Jermiah Wright and Barack Obama, asking if Obama shares Wright’s radical viewpoints.

McCain’s concern appears to be over the direction the ad takes, which is contrary to his vision. Addressing the issue over the last few days, McCain insists this is not the direction he or his campaign will be taking.

An admirable stance by the Senator on its face, this leaves one to ponder; what will happen when the Democrats begin attacking McCain? Currently, the Dems are in a civil war and thus McCain has been shielded from the nastier side of politics. But, as history shows that is sure to change. With his words of damnation aimed at the NC GOP, it appears McCain has now painted himself into a corner. Somewhere in a dark room, a Dem operative is cutting the tape as you read this.

Another problem with McCain’s hard stance is the fact for many heartlanders, Obama’s association with Wright is not dirty politics, but an issue they want addressed. With the stance McCain has chosen, it is clear he will not push for such answers. Leaving many voters disillusioned and confused as to what McCain’s intentions are.

McCain’s current stance may be a stroke of political genius, tapping into the frustration of independent voters, tired of partisan politics. But, it may also be a self imposed prison, with no route of escape.
