McCain: Close Gitmo

Published by aebersole at 7:06 pm under Current News Edit This

Senator John McCain delivered an extensive foreign policy speech Tuesday at the Los Angels World Affairs Council. In it he laid out his vision of a the new world. The reaction of the right to his words was far from cordial.

In the broad reaching speech McCain called for the closure of the terrorist detention camp at Guantanamo. He also spoke of the dangers of global warming, the need for America to be a role model and learn to work other nations. McCain also called for Russia to be excluded from the G-8 and for the inclusion of Brazil and India.

The reaction from the right was  immediate as Rush Limbaugh blasted McCain, asking if the United States should replace the dollar with the Euro?

McCain has clearly decided he will remain a moderate and take the road less traveled. The question still remains will the conservatives join him or let him walk alone?
